headed out on foot from jack london square around 9-ish. got home to boat on foot around 5. long, but accomplished, day. it really wouldn't have been long except for the on-foot part! finished off the day by dumping my stuff on board, putting on my heaviest sweatshirt...(SYSTEM OF A DOWN!)...because it got cold and foggy, and brought my book up to heinhold's first and last chance saloon. pretended i was jack london...got a beer and sat at his table and read. i love this life! heinhold's is shrouded in scaffolding and tarps and the new 6 story building is looming above and all around it. THE LITTLE SALOON THAT COULD. the bartender tonight is one of our favorites from il pescatore (the best restaurant on the square in our humble opinions). he reminds us of our little drummer boy patrick. actually 3 of the guys who are belly-up-to-the-bar are waiters from pesci's...one of them being jessie's heartthrob (from afar)...good looking kid with full-sleeve tattoos...hidden under his uniform shirt of course......
